# Enable full disk encryption

## post by Rakesh on Nov 4, 2024

Product: Lambda Vector One.

OS: Ubuntu 22.04

I want to enable full disk encryption as a part of company’s ISO requirement. Since Lambda Vector One comes with Ubuntu pre-installed, I am wondering is there a way to enable disk encryption?

Thanks

The easiest way to enable full disk encryption on a new system is to use the [recovery image](https://docs.lambdalabs.com/education/linux-usage/lambda-stack-and-recovery-images/#workstations). At the [disk setup](https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-ubuntu-desktop#6-type-of-installation) step, choose **Erase disk and install Ubuntu** > **Advanced features** > **Use LVM and encryption**.
