LAMBDA TENSORBOOK - will not get through boot sequence

post by RAYNIER on Feb 18, 2022

After installing new keyboards (Japanese/Korean) on tensorbook the machine will no longer start up.

It get to the boot start sequence but then display a graphic page with a “sad face” saying

** —————————**

“oh no! ‘. Something has gone wrong’
Oh problem occurred and the system cannot recover
Please logon and try again

** ——————————**

The system however is frozen up and only a continued press on the on/off button will restart — but it gets stuck in the same way…

Please can you suggest an solution to restore to working / booting system?

Raynier,

Hi! I am just getting back to deeptalk.

This is a gnome type message, and the solutions I found were for reinstall of gnome, etc. That did not work.

What did work in this case was:

And another mentions cleaning up your gnome configs:

$ cd ~
$ mkdir .gnome-config-bak
$ mv .gnome .gnome2 .gconf .gconfd .metacity .cache .dbus .dmrc .mission-control .thumbnails .config/dconf/user .compiz* .gnome-config-bak/
$ rm -f .config/dconf/user
