# Unable to boot into AI Desktop workstations

## post by dataninja-python on Jan 7, 2025

My wife has been ill so I haven’t used my system for a while. When I returned and booted the system, it shows (ash) and (noinitramfs) on the screen. What is the best way to get this working and ideally upgraded to the next LTS easily.

1. Install Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 → [https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop](https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop)
2. Install Lambda Stack → [Lambda Stack: an AI software stack that's always up-to-date](/content/lambda-stack-deep-learning-software/index.html)
