# Unable to enable mig on A100 instance

After launching A100 instance I am able to run the nvidia-smi command and enable the mig and nvidia-smi shows that is Enabled with an asterix, but when I reboot the VM it goes back to disabled. How can I go about enabling MIG on A100 instance

MIG settings don’t persist across reboots.

But, take a look at [MIG Partition Editor](https://github.com/NVIDIA/mig-parted/tree/main), specifically, [nvidia-mig-manager.service](https://github.com/NVIDIA/mig-parted/tree/main/deployments/systemd).
