Please try this: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. This should upgrade it properly then restart via: sudo reboot and it should work perfectly fine again.
OpenCV in lambda-stack - non-gpu?
User: Leon

OpenCV GPU has to be installed manually and is to my knowledge not included in Lambda Stack. Here’s an article explaining it: How to install OpenCV 4.2.0 with CUDA 10.1 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) | by Shitty Bots | Medium

Lambda stack installs the packages with apt. You can uninstall with sudo apt autoremove python-tensorflow

For updates, do sudo apt install python3-numba or if you want to keep the version you can install it via pip3 install numba.

The TensorFlow library was compiled to use AVX2 instructions, but these aren't available on your machine

Your CPU just doesn't support AVX2. You have to uninstall the tensorflow CPU version and install tensorflow-gpu. That should probably work.

Type exit and then go to the main grub menu and start ubuntu. If that doesn't work, go to advanced options and select the first option then. In case it still doesn’t work. Pls message me on Discord. My name is Leon Nowsden on there and I am online 24/7. Lambda Deep Learning Community

Something went wrong when you added the repo. Just do this:
LAMBDA_REPO=$(mktemp) && \
wget -O${LAMBDA_REPO} https://lambdalabs.com/static/misc/lambda-stack-repo.deb && \
sudo dpkg -i ${LAMBDA_REPO} && rm -f ${LAMBDA_REPO} && \
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y lambda-stack-cuda
