# Managing billing

This page explains how to manage your Lambda Cloud billing and provides guidance for troubleshooting billing issues.

## Setting up billing

Before you can launch Lambda Cloud services, you must visit the [Settings > Billing page](https://cloud.lambda.ai/settings/billing) in the Lambda Cloud console and add a credit card to your account. Lambda makes a $10 pre-authorization charge to make sure the card is valid. The charge will be refunded in a few days.

## Paying an open invoice

To pay an open invoice, visit the [Settings > Billing page](https://cloud.lambda.ai/settings/billing) in the Lambda Cloud console, scroll to the **Payment History** section, and then click **Pay open invoice** to open the payment page.

Note

If you don't have any open invoices, the **Pay open invoice** button does not appear.

## Monitoring your costs

You can monitor the cost of your Lambda Cloud resource usage by visiting the [Usage page](https://cloud.lambda.ai/usage) in the Lambda Cloud console.

## Updating your billing information

To update your billing information, such as your payment method and billing address, visit the [Settings > Billing page](https://cloud.lambda.ai/settings/billing) in the Lambda Cloud console.

## Viewing your payment history

To view your payment history, including past invoices and payment status, visit the [Settings > Billing page](https://cloud.lambda.ai/settings/billing) in the Lambda Cloud console and scroll to the **Payment History** section.

## Viewing your credit balance

To view your credit balance, visit the [Settings > Billing page](https://cloud.lambda.ai/settings/billing) in the Lambda Cloud console and scroll to the **Credits** section.

Important

When you receive new service credits, your credit balance reflects them immediately. However, the balance won't reflect recent service usage against those credits until the current weekly billing cycle ends.

## Troubleshooting billing issues

### My card is being declined

Common reasons that card transactions are declined:

- **You're using a prepaid card or debit card.**

Lambda only accepts major credit cards.
- **You attempted the transaction while connected to a VPN.**

Purchases made while using a VPN are flagged as suspicious.
- **Your card issuer is denying our pre-authorization charge.**

We make a $10 pre-authorization charge to a card before accepting it for payment. If the card issuer denies the pre-authorization charge, then we can't accept the card for payment.
- **You've entered the wrong CVV or ZIP code.**

Transactions won't go through if these details are incorrect.

Purchases from your country might also be unsupported at the moment. Currently, Lambda only supports purchases from the following regions:

- Australia
- Canada
- Chile
- European Union (except for Lithuania)
- Iceland
- Israel
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Puerto Rico
- Singapore
- South Africa
- South Korea
- Switzerland
- Taiwan
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
- United Kingdom
- United States

### I didn't receive an invoice this week

If you didn't use any Lambda resources in the last week, you won't receive an invoice. If you did use Lambda resources in a given week but did not receive an invoice, [reach out to the Support team](https://support.lambda.ai/hc/en-us/requests/new).
